New York City Mayor Eric Adams is reportedly turning to a favorite lawyer of one prominent figure, Elon Musk, to fight his latest indictment.
The mayor and former New York City police lieutenant was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of soliciting bribes from foreign businessmen to fund political campaigns.
The 57-page indictment, unsealed Thursday, charges Adams with five counts related to bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy and solicitation of contributions from foreign persons.
According to Bloomberg, Politico and the New York Times, Adams has hired controversial and powerful lawyer Alex Spiro to fight the charges against him.
Spiro, a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, also represented Adams in a sexual assault lawsuit filed against the mayor earlier this year, according to the New York Times. There is.

Spiro first represented Musk in a 2018 lawsuit in which Musk was accused of defaming a man he called a “pedo bastard” online.
