Founded in 1978, FactSet is a research and software solutions provider for the financial services sector. The company has more than 60 offices in 23 countries and is listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. FactSet’s flagship solutions include advanced analytics for trading, risk management, hedge funds, investment banking, private equity, and other aspects of financial services. FactSet has a marketplace of data connectors that allow you to obtain information and industry intelligence from around the world to enhance your trading and investment decisions. These can be implemented as standalone solutions or via API.
FactSet’s biggest differentiator is the breadth of information assets it has amassed about the financial services market. The FactSet for Teams app makes this information directly available to Teams users.
FactSet began integrating Microsoft Teams in February 2021. The company noted that nearly one-third of its customers already use Teams for collaboration, so this integration will help significantly streamline workflows. FactSet uses ML to provide detailed information in response to queries. A new integration now brings this functionality to Teams as well. Let’s review the app in more detail.

Here are the key features you can expect with FactSet for Teams:
FactSet Bot – FactSet Bot is a way to interact with the app and find information. FactSet can tell you about a particular stock, recent M&A events, market predictions, and more research. This information is obtained through the FactSet StreetAccount solution, which covers stock markets on all major exchanges in North America and Europe. Automatic Market Notifications – In addition to regular updates, you can receive alerts when stock prices cross certain thresholds. With this app, you can specify a stock name, choose whether to exceed or fall below the alert, and specify a target price. Apart from Teams notifications, you can also receive this data via email. Snippets of information sent during conversations – FactSet allows you to set up a bot that can retrieve information based on natural language queries. For example, suppose you enter the query “Total sales per employee.” In that case, you will know the exact revenue of General Motors calculated for its employees in the previous fiscal year. FactSet Messaging Extension – The messaging extension in the FactSet app is extremely useful if you want to mention a specific stock or market event when talking to colleagues. Let’s say you’re discussing an upcoming meeting via Teams, and you want everyone in the meeting to discuss the latest market changes in this space. Simply click the FactSet icon below the message compose area and enter your data query (e.g. Walmart Overview) in the FactSet pop-up that appears. FactSet automatically generates adaptive cards that include all relevant information such as stock price, market capitalization, sales, recent trades, and upcoming events. Deny Permission – FactSet allows you to set policy restrictions that prevent Teams users from entering specified words or phrases. The organization does not allow it. Because your data is sensitive, you must follow organizational and industry regulations when sharing and using information. FactSet apps enable regulatory compliance. For example, you can restrict users from sending messages containing the word “Ponzi.”

FactSet’s powerful machine learning algorithms help you find the exact information you need right in your work flow. In addition, we boast extensive repositories of industry information and analytical content for North America and Europe dating back to 2003 and 2005, respectively.
