Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and his colleagues will begin two days of policy meetings this morning. The September meeting comes as more important economic indicators are being released, including August retail sales figures to be released this morning.

Microsoft’s stock is rising after increasing its dividend, while Intel’s stock is soaring after announcing plans to turn its foundry business into a subsidiary. This comes after stocks performed well yesterday following the Biden administration’s decision to provide Intel with up to $3 billion in funding through CHIPS and the Science Act.
