The huge success of Among Us changed the lives of the developers at Innersloth. Now, the team is reaping the rewards by funding a number of other indie games under their new label “Outersloth” (perfect name, Zeronote).
Some of the projects Outer Sloth has supported so far include Mars First Logistics (a Mars rover construction sim that entered early access last year), card battle RPG Battlesuit Ace, exploration game Mossfield Archives, and the one-button boss rush title One-button boss, and roguelike space dog combat Rogue Eclipse. Strange Scaffold (an alien airport now run by dogs) and Visai Games (the awesome Venba) are also working with Outersloth.
Outerloth is also funding the next project from Outerloop Games, the team behind the acclaimed Thirsty Suiters. This is in a very early stage of development and is called Project Dosa. Explore the world with your upgradable mecha, cook for your community, and fight off bad guys.
It’s great that Outer Sloth offers indie developers another way to fund their games beyond the traditional publisher approach of relying on crowdfunding or relying on early access. That’s great. Meanwhile, Summer Game Fest Live saw the debut of the Among Us animated TV show.
