(Reuters) – Nvidia has not received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice, a spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We have contacted the U.S. Department of Justice and have not been issued a subpoena. However, we are happy to answer any questions regulators may have regarding our business.”
Bloomberg News reported Tuesday that the Justice Department has sent out subpoenas related to a possible antitrust investigation, which could signal an escalation of the investigation. Bloomberg News reported that subpoenas were also sent to companies other than Nvidia.
The Justice Department has been questioning the tech company in recent weeks about Nvidia’s business practices, including questions about the company’s hardware bundling practices, two people familiar with the agency’s questions told Reuters.
The Justice Department did not respond to requests for comment.
In addition to questions about the bundle, Justice Department officials are investigating the company’s recent acquisition of Israel-based Run:AI for a reported $700 million in April, sources told Reuters. Ta. Officials are investigating whether the acquisition could further increase Nvidia’s dominance in the artificial intelligence computing market.
