A Sacramento business owner is angry, saying thieves stole more than $12,000 worth of merchandise from her beauty store. It is the second time in eight months that Total Beauty Experience, off Arden Way in the Arden Arcade area, has been broken into. Debbie DiTore owns Total Beauty Experience. For 30 years, this salon and beauty retailer has sold hair and skin care products, gifts, clothing and jewelry. “This is killing the business. It’s making it almost financially impossible to survive these kinds of losses. And stay in business,” store owner Debbie DiTore said. Footage provided by DiTore showed what appeared to be a person wearing a yellow hoodie, followed by a person wearing a black hoodie, looking in front of the store early Sunday morning. They then returned with the truck and the tools for the invasion. “We need more aggressive law enforcement and harsher consequences and penalties to ensure that these people don’t feel like they can get away with doing whatever they want,” DiTore said. The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is aware of recent retail theft crimes impacting local businesses. They are now calling on business owners to add security cameras and improve lighting in case a robbery occurs. “Submit a report and let them know what happened. The more data we have, the more we can help you get the resources you need. The reality is that this has hit our business hard. When things get tough for them, it hurts consumers, too,β said Kathy Rodriguez Aguilar, president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The Sacramento Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the theft.
