Threads is following X’s lead by blocking links to allegedly leaked documents about vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
Meta says the link is blocked because it may have come from a hacked or leaked source and could be connected. The FBI and other intelligence agencies warned last month that Iranian-backed hackers were trying to access Trump campaign information.
Since then, documents that were allegedly hacked have been circulating in various media outlets, and while the existence of these documents has been reported, almost all media outlets are disclosing the details, saying they may have been obtained through illegal means. Refuses to make it public.
But independent journalist Ken Klippenstein published a trove of documents on his Substack on Thursday. His account on X was immediately suspended, and some users said their accounts were locked after posting the link.
